This weekend, I attended my father's funeral. I don't have a lot to say about it because I'm still in denial over his death and the related events and can't seem to recall a lot about him as of late. My primal side still thinks Dad is just somewhere else and will come home in a month or two. I will properly grieve when my instinctive side realizes he's dead, and not just my logical side. But I will say this. . . He was integral to my development as a man, and when I miss him, I am going to miss him a lot. I would like to write more about him, but at a later date when my mind is capable of remembering everything better. Maybe I'll make a journal entry about the entire situation that lead up to his death--which is so loaded, I don't believe I even want to start trying to talk about here. I know my dad would want me to continue life, and of course, to continue working. It is one strong thing that he taught me--that life doesn't really care how you feel.
